About Hafdis Hafsteins
Hafdis Hafsteins is a children’s book and YA fantasy author as well as an illustrator.
Having spent her childhood, one foot in the Icelandic capital Reykjavik and the other foot in the countryside, she considers herself fortunate to have experienced both sides of her country.
Hafdis has always had a deep love for reading and writing, and without fail, she receives at least one book as a Christmas gift each year.
Hafdis spent several years working at a veterinary hospital, where her deep love for animals was evident. However, she couldn't help but feel that the job lacked the enchantment and awe she yearned for.
In her debut book, "The Chameleon Which Lost Its Colour," she aspired to unite her two passions: writing and animals.
In 2022, Hafdis enrolled in the BA in English program at the University of Iceland. Her motivation was to enhance her understanding of the English language, explore literature, and lay a strong groundwork for her future as a writer.
Taking her courses has already improved her writing skills and laid the foundation for her upcoming YA duology, known as the Land Wight Chronicles.
When she isn't busy writing or conjuring up exciting new adventures for her readers, she enjoys immersing herself in the world of fantasy novels, knitting sweaters, or simply snuggling up with a warm blanket and a steaming cup of hot cocoa.
